Winter at Crater Lake National Park is a quiet time to absorb the beauty. On a clear day the bright blue sky reflects in the deep blue lake and contrasts with the purest white snow, the scenery is the finest in the world.
Be sure to bring the proper outerwear for the cold weather and snow. To hike be sure to have snow shoes or skies and watch your step.
Be prepared with winter tires and chains. Always check road conditions before starting your drive. The South and West entrances are open year around except during short periods during heavy snowfall.
